Family History

I embarked upon a challenging journey in the spring of 1999 when I bought the derelict Railway Inn.  I dreamt of following in my mother, Edith’s footsteps and working hard to support my two young girls.  I am proud to say that my mother was somewhat of a pioneer for women, anyone who had met and known her would agree she was a force to be reckoned with. Edith was one of the first ever land lassie sin Hull who ran The Punchbowl on James Reckitt Avenue and The Blue Bell in Sproatley for many successful years.

Combined with my mother’s determination and the strength of my family now 17 years since the start  of this adventure, I am proud to be working hard as a team with both my daughters, Michelle and Lydia.  Lydia has just welcomed her first child into our family and named her Lily Edith in memory of her nana who sadly passed away September 2015.

Together we are extremely proud of our homely country pub and we continue to pride ourselves on our homemade pies with the recipe remaining the same over 3 generations.
